Dr John Hines, R & D Director, Deb Group Dr John Hines completed his D.Phil. studies into thermodynamics of mixed micellar systems at the Physical Chemistry department of Oxford University before joining Unilever's Research and Development team as a scientist. John worked first in the laundry category where he worked on new technologies for brands such as Persil and Surf. He then worked in Unilever Skin Care and Hair Care R&D, before becoming R&D leader for the Dove brand. In pursuit of new experiences, John briefly led a technical consultancy business where he gained insight into many new ways of working and the demands of a wide variety of industries. He joined Deb Group as Research and Development Director in 2010. John is passionate about innovation that really matters and that addresses real issues. Under his leadership, Deb has pioneered connected solutions to drive best practice in occupational hygiene and skin care, first with the DebMed hand hygiene system and then with the DebSafe skin care system. Now under the ownership of SC Johnson, Deb R&D continues to challenge norms and assumptions with the intent of improving hand hygiene and skin care for the world's workforce.
